Kuwait joined the ranks of importers of Ukrainian soybean oil

Ukrainian soybean oil exports totaled 11.5 KMT in December 2017 against 11.2 KMT in the previous month and 11.7 KMT in December 2016. Overall, 2017/18 exports of the product are down at 44.2 KMT, i.e. 19% lower than at the same time last season (54.6 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

European countries remain the top end market for Ukrainian soybean oil this season. Their export share is up almost 15 year-on-year at 56%.

China also continues stepping up purchases of this commodity from Ukraine: Chinese importers have increased them more than four times and currently absorb over one-third of its total soybean oil exports.

The list of major importers still includes Ethiopia (3%) and the Virgin Islands (1%). In addition, Ukraine started supplying its soybean oil to Kuwait in December 2017 (1%).
